The Pathfinder is 35 this month! We have been Manhattan's local, loyal outdoors equipment store since we opened at 1111 Moro in Aggieville in 1975. We moved to our current Downtown Manhattan location in 1992, and have enjoyed the extra space as we've grown. We want to say THANK YOU to our wonderful family of customers, many of whom have been shopping with us from the very beginning (you know who you are!).

Though the heat hasn't completely gone, the cool evenings remind us that Fall is almost here. After the heat of the summer, fall is a great time to get back outdoors and enjoy a bike ride on the Linear Trail, a paddle on Pott 2, or an evening sitting around a campfire. Aren't you ready for cozy fleece weather? Well, cozy fleece is ready for you! Our North Face and Mountain Hardwear fall orders have come in, and Patagonia, Columbia and SmartWool are on deck.

Yes, we know it's a bit warm. But hey, it's summer in Kansas -- what did you expect? Don't let it keep you from enjoying your favorite activities, though. Outfit yourself with cool clothing (North Face's Horizon series shorts/capris and Vaporwick series shirts are light and quick to dry), comfy sandals (Teva's mushes now come in a wedge for women), and a wide brim hat or ballcap to keep the sun off. And we have bug spray, sunscreen, sunglasses and -- of course -- a huge variety of water bottles and hydration packs to keep the water handy. Don't get beat by the heat!
